Field Project Manager

The Construction Field Project Manager will work directly in support of the Project Manager and in cooperation with our government contracts and commercial entities. The Field Project Manager coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel and subcontractors to safely complete the project on schedule and within budget. This is an onsite position at various 2MW-6MW Solar Farms across the state of New Mexico. The scope of work involves design-build community solar farms.  The Field Project Manager is held responsible for the quality of production and will perform the duties of the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) and the Quality Control (QC) Manager from time to time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review the final approved design drawings and technical specifications and approved submittals for compliance with the contract as outlined within the specifications before beginning work

  • Conduct a pre-construction site investigation of the existing conditions

  • Issue a stop work orders if any unsafe work conditions and procedures are observed

  • Lead weekly project progress meetings and daily safety tail gate meetings and participate in the Preparatory Meetings for each Definable Feature of Work.

  • Coordinate all production activities with the QC Manager and report to the Project Manager

  • -Gather and oversee all certified payroll forms and submissions from supervisors.  Ensuring all are filled out correctly each day.  Organize and get them to the Project Manager daily.

  • Maintain close coordination between the Owners regarding specific project concerns and production procedures unique to the project

  • Prepare contractors production reports daily for distribution

  • Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met

  • Read specifications, and blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedure

  • Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs

  • Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of employees and subcontractors

  • Collaborate with managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities

  • Order materials, coordinate heavy equipment and/or supplies

  • Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment

  • Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports

  • Schedule work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs

  • Maintain the construction schedule

  • Provide Project Manager with up to date regarding all site activities

  • Prepares all Request for Information (RFI) and/or Clarification to the Architect for field issues

  • Comply with all company and E.E.O.C. policies

  • Maintain a continuous high standard of quality control

  • Coordinate material deliveries and subcontract work in accordance with progress schedule and adjust as necessary due to changes

  • Resolve, or assist Job Superintendent and foreman in resolving, design and detail problems with owners, design agents, suppliers, and subcontractors.

  • Prepare periodic percent completion data for job cost report and monitor printouts to correct errors

  • Assure that details and submittals are received, submitted, corrected, approved and returned to the suppliers and subcontractors to assure delivery of materials and equipment to support progress schedules. Supervise submittal control data

  • Monitor the maintenance of as-built drawings as required on projects. Assure maintenance of a permanent record set, or that “as-built” information is transferred to permanent record set

  • Attend training seminars on estimating, management, and construction techniques as the PM/Owners request​

Requirements:

  • 7 years experience in vertical/ground-up construction industry required

  • 5 years of Solar Farm experience required

  • Ability to communicate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors during job site visits/meetings

  • 3-5 years experience with Design-Build, As-Built, and Tenant Improvement construction projects required

  • Experience reading construction blueprints and specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, Construction management, or related discipline preferred but not required

  • NABCEP Certification Preferred

  • Proven ability to work in team environment and multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills

  • -Strong Leadership training and abilities to motivate and guide teams and employees

  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, Microsoft Outlook, and other construction industry software
